BRAMPTON, ON - GoLo Racing would like to announce the 2008 Annual Max Mercier Memorial Breakfast.  With its introduction in 2006, this is the 3rd year we are fortunate enough to present this event offered in loving memory of Max Mercier at the R.A.C.E. Super Series Round #2.

Max Mercier was not only a gifted motorcycle racer but an exemplary person who inspired people around him in many ways. He was, and still remains an inspiration to his peers in the sport, his fans on and off the track, and of course, his loving family and friends.

Rahul Dua of GoLo Racing, with the support of Max's father, Michel Mercier, of Fast Racing School has once again organized the Max Mercier Memorial Breakfast to start the 2008 Canadian road racing season. A.J. Tibayan from Hot Lap Events and ACME slate will be sponsoring the breakfast as this event will raise funds in memory of Max in order to provide support for Canadian Road Racing community.

“It is an honor to be involved with such a great event,” says A.J. “When Rahul Dua approached the Hot Lap Events team and me with the opportunity to participate in the Max Mercier Memorial Breakfast we were excited to do whatever we could to help keep this already successful event going strong.”

The Max Mercier Memorial Breakfast will start at Shannonville Motorsport Park during the R.A.C.E. Super Series (Round #2) on Sunday, May 4th, 2008 at 7:30am. All racers are invited to enjoy the breakfast, at the track in front of the FAST riding school's garage. There is no charge for the breakfast, but racers are asked to bring in donations of any amount, 100% of which will go directly to the Max Mercier Charity Fund. Funds raised from this event will be used for our own Canadian Road Racing community.

It was a great event in year 2007 as it brought the whole racing community together to start the season on a positive note, remembering our fellow racer and raising money which will be used to promote and support our community. “We were able to get a fully Automated Cardiac Defibrillator and CPR assistance Unit as our first contribution to the Canadian Road Racing Community last year and this year we will be focusing on SMP corner RUN OFF issues” says Rahul Dua from GoLo Racing. A survey for corner improvements will be handed out Saturday morning’s riders meeting to get the feedback from riders. Results will be released on Sunday and corner that’s the biggest concern among riders will see RUN OFF improvements.

We look forward to your support and generosity, and hope that by honoring Max's memory in this way, we can keep his spirit with us as we begin the new 2008 racing season. Please contact Michel Mercier at Fast Riding School or Rahul Dua from GoLo Racing if you would like to donate.
